Job Title: Journeyperson Plumber
In this position, the plumbing technician will be responsible for all aspects of the installation, maintenance, inspection, operation and repair of the plumbing systems in residential buildings. This includes; installing and repairing sinks, toilets and other plumbing fixtures, as well as appliances including dishwashers and garbage disposals. Our company offers on-the-job training and yearly wage increases as your skills develop. Starting pay is determined upon skills and experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Complete plumbing, drain cleaning and other related in-home, service calls.
- Serving the clients of the company by expertly servicing customers’ entire plumbing system.
- Wear floor savers while in the client’s home and maintaining a neat work area when performing a repair or scheduled service.
- Always explain to the client what service you are performing. Explain and show the client how the company provides superior service.
- Understand your sales criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals.
- Establish customer rapport to sell the right products and services.
- Re-check all plumbing repairs and installations after you’ve repaired or replaced it, before leaving the client’s home to ensure everything is working properly and that we did indeed fix it right the first time.
- Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans.
- Explain the club memberships to the client, giving them an opportunity to join. Maintain an average of converting at least 25% of non-club members and maintain a 90% renewal rate on existing club members.
- Show yourself as professional and knowledgeable to win new referrals and repeat business.
- Maintain your truck so that it is neat and clean on the inside and outside at all times. The truck is one of the best billboards that the company has. Park the truck for the maximum impact of the “billboard” when possible. Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure overall success of the business.
- Be accurate and timely with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback and option sheets
- Obey the company Code of Ethics and the Team Rules.
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and well inventoried truck.
- Always be safety conscious both on the job and while driving.
- Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings and retreats.
- Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred but not required
- 5+ years’ technical and trade experience
- Current plumbing license
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance and repairs of plumbing systems
- Understanding of the current regulations within the field
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills on a technical level
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- General knowledge of power tools and techniques for care and safe use
- Plumbing troubleshooting and repair
- Provide an acceptable driver’s abstract and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Strong customer service skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical Demands:
- Climbing up and down on ladders and equipment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to pick-up a minimum of 25 pounds consistently and carry up to 250 feet unassisted
- Operate handheld power tools
- Wear personal protective equipment
- Ability to work more than 40 hours per work week and up to 12 hours per day
Working Environment:
- Work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to work on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for up to 8 hours
- The Plumber may work in awkward environments and will have to carry all required equipment and supplies at all times.
- Sensory demands include exposure to the smells associated with sewer and water, exposure to the sounds associated with power tools and construction sites, and exposure to dust and other debris associated with the use of power tools and current home conditions, all of which can cause sensory strain including headaches
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

- Weekends as needed
