Job Description:
As a Production Team Lead on our Molten team, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing aspects of our production processes. This role demands a combination of key skills and qualities, including organization, adaptability, time management, critical thinking, the ability to hold the team accountable, teamwork, problem-solving, proactiveness, motivation, and ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people is necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Creating Detailed Production Schedule: This involves extracting data from different spreadsheets, so a strong ability to organize, update, and maintain information is vital. Production schedule must be explicit, easily accessible, and understandable. Proficiency in tools like Google Sheets, Google Docs, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Excel is required.
- Capacity Planning: Understand the department’s needs and effectively communicate with supervisors and operations manager regarding needs, concerns, and feedback. Be proactive in identifying potential problems before they arise. Utilize internal operating systems (e.g., make list, capacity planner, master brew list, ProTracker, projections) to create plans. A proactive mindset is essential.
- Managing Project-Based Changes: Adapt to changes in processes, such as altering how we store brewing tinctures. This involves meeting with stakeholders, developing plans and contingencies, implementing changes, developing change management strategies, proactively assisting in achieving buy-in from team and developing plans to follow up through the change process. Checking for understanding, coaching, and team member accountability in adhering to updated processes.
- Accountability and Confrontation: Hold all team members to the same standards and address situations where expectations are not met. Be comfortable with being held accountable yourself and engaging in constructive conflict.
- Effective Communication: Possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to have difficult conversations and engage in constructive conflict resolution. Understand that clarity is a form of kindness. Be at ease when communicating with personnel at all levels and adopt an effective and thorough communication style.
- Promoting Teamwork: Collaborate effectively within the department and across departments. Understand team dynamics and maintain a positive atmosphere within the department to keep the team motivated and engaged. Embrace a team-oriented mindset, willing to let go of ego and able to build trust and relationships with all team members. Act as a patient coach, recognizing the importance of teaching others.
- Adaptability: Be flexible and able to pivot smoothly when needed. Create contingency plans and be prepared to implement them. Maintain composure during stressful moments or days.
- Mechanical Skills: Feel comfortable working with machinery.
Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in production management is a plus.
- Previous experience in a similar role in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets, Google Docs, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to confront issues constructively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort with machinery.
