- Enter specimen data into the laboratory information system.

Make sure the proper request forms have been used.

Make sure the requisition is properly identified with the patient’s full name, DOB, date of collection, and physician’s name.

Make sure the sample tube is properly identified with the patient’s name and date of collection.

Make sure the specimen sample tube matches the requisition form and that complete demographic and specimen source information is sent.

Properly label all specimen sample tubes with the appropriate accession number.
-
Maintenance of various logs.
-
Perform other tasks in the laboratory as deemed necessary by the Toxicology Supervisor.

Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures of Sagis.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm

High school education or equivalent REQUIRED.

Good Attention to Detail is REQUIRED.

MUST be able to type at least 40 WPM.

Demonstrated ability to follow procedures.

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

Ability to work in a standing position at times.

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Ability to work late shifts and weekends when necessary.

Intermediate knowledge and skills in the operation of computers.

Ability to interact well with people.

Ability to work well under direction of the Laboratory Director and others in a supervisory capacity.

Office experience, preferably in a medical or other health care setting.

Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry or similar fields Required for advancing to other lab positions.
