Aqua ViTea Kombucha is hiring a Cellar Lead.
Aqua Vitea Kombucha in Middlebury VT is looking for a Cellar Lead to help us continue to produce the best tasting Kombucha on the planet. As our company grows, both on the branded side and the co-pack side we are looking for someone with experience and passion to join the team. Position Overview:
Schedule and perform daily cellar tasks including Brewing, Cleaning, Sanitizing, and Blend Building. Responsible for all aspects of Kombucha Fermentation. Maintain high-quality standards including meeting specifications for all Aqua ViTea and co-manufactured products. Communicate effectively with the Production Manager and cellar team members to ensure all responsibilities are being fulfilled according to the company's SOPs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (additional duties may be assigned)
- Oversees fermentation of kombucha and determines when to brew, centrifuge and operate spinning cone.
- Builds kombucha and co-pack blends, brews tea, operates centrifuge, and spinning cone according to the company’s SOPs.
- Schedules and maintains cleanliness of all brewery equipment, including cellar floors, drains, and tank exteriors while using chemicals safely and efficiently.
- Identifies and communicates problems with equipment, malfunctions, or breakdown in process.
- Informs the production manager of any observed equipment or mechanical issues.
- Helps develop new cellar SOPs and revises current cellar SOPs.
- Communicates regularly, efficiently, and effectively with management and all necessary employees including packaging department.
- Responsible for making sure co-pack specifications are being met and communicating when there are issues.
- Responsible for raw material inventory tracking.
- Completes all necessary and assigned paperwork accurately and on time.
- Arrives to each shift on time with a positive attitude.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in brewing or similar food/beverage production
- Knowledge of brewing equipment and sanitation practices
- Ability to understand equipment and make small repairs
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
