SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Licensed clinician with a minimum, 1 year of experience working with the severely mentally ill, chemically addicted and intellectually disabled population who will be responsible for conducting psychosocial assessments for patients in an acute inpatient psychiatric unit. Candidate must be able to work and engage with the severely mentally ill, substance abuse and intellectually disabled population, their families and community providers, possess knowledge of resources and services for this population.
- Serve as a member of the clinical interdisciplinary team on the inpatient psychiatric service conducting initial assessment, documenting biopsychosocial assessments, formulation and disposition, developing comprehensive treatment plans, facilitating supportive, psychoeducational and insight-oriented psychotherapeutic interventions, participating weekly supervision, providing crisis interventions to high-risk patients, engaging with and providing support to families, and engaging them as partners in recovery.
- Identifying and collaborating with existing support systems, facilitating community referrals as needed, collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment team to develop most appropriate case disposition, documenting all interventions within the required regulatory timeframes
- Partnering with OMH, DHS, ACS and OPWDD on behalf of patients served
- May be assigned to work in other clinical areas as needed when patient care needs arise
