CULINAIRE is in search of an experienced and seasoned Director of Catering who shares our values and passion for excellence to work with an amazing team at the Morton H Meyerson Symphony Center in the heart of downtown Dallas. The center is ranked as one of the world's greatest orchestra halls. The main lobby boasts 24,000 square feet with a 50-foot ceiling height providing a soaring, elegant architectural backdrop for events with elegantly constructed marble floors.
CULINAIRE is a Dallas-based national food service company and is seeking an experienced, seasoned, and self-motivated catering professional with a true passion for the hospitality industry.
The ideal candidate will manage the catering sales effort, and skillfully negotiate the multi-faceted process of staging catered events.
A few important responsibilities will include:
· Exceeding monthly booking goals.
· Maintaining positive working relationships with our client and building staff.
· Producing a monthly forecast of revenue.
· Submitting monthly Pace and Gap Reports.
· Understanding how to help the museum’s special events department grow business volumes and close sales.
· Ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
What we're looking for:
· Aggressive salesmanship.
· An astute ability to work around obstacles.
· Five years prior experience with a proven record of accomplishment in a similar facility.
· Willing to work flexible hours (i.e. weekends, evenings).
· Great organizational skills.
· Excellent supervisory skills.
Essential Job Functions:
· Supervision and overall responsibility for the Catering department, including monitoring the accuracy and thoroughness of all written communication from the Catering Sales Manager. These documents include but are not limited to: Menus, Event Proposals, Contracts, Event Orders and Daily/Weekly Sales Reports.
· Train, mentor, and conduct performance evaluations for the Catering Sales Manager. In addition, recommend the hiring, termination, or disciplining of any Catering associate.
· Actively prospect and solicit, develop, and maintain local corporate catering accounts through telephone, personal sales calls, trade shows, and on-site entertainment.
· Finalize the requirements of personally booked catering events while maximizing revenue through upselling.
· Ensure accuracy of banquet checks and provide bill review prior to completion of every event.
· Maintain knowledge of facilities, capacities, and dimensions of meeting space in the competitive set.
· Act as the liaison for all vendor/supplier-related client’s needs, (i.e. Audio Visual, Florists, Entertainment, Transportation, etc.)
