Position: Systems Engineer
Location: Chantilly, VA
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with full scope polygraph required.
Overview: We are seeking a Systems Engineer for a long-term engagement to support planning and development of both current and future IT architectures. This role involves supporting infosec assurance, accreditation, Configuration Management, and Systems Engineering efforts across a complex portfolio of legacy and new data tools. The successful candidate will be pivotal in identifying, analyzing, defining, and coordinating user, customer, and stakeholder needs, translating these into technical requirements, and assessing industry offerings to align with strategic IT initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with users, customers, and stakeholders to define and coordinate needs, translating these into technical requirements.
- Collaborate with technical and analytical teams to define constraints, develop requirements, and produce concept of operations documentation.
- Identify technical risks and devise appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Review and evaluate industry offerings to determine suitable products and technologies for strategic IT initiatives.
- Manage dependencies with other systems and components within the infrastructure.
- Lead the conceptual design, prototyping, and testing phases for selected technical solutions.
- Facilitate the resolution of cross-group issues and conflicts within the organization.
- Evaluate system designs to ensure they meet established technical criteria.
- Determine necessary hardware and software applications for project completion.
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
- Proven expertise in system architecture, systems engineering principles, and security.
- Strong background in configuration management.
- Experience identifying gaps in current capabilities and processes.
- Proficiency in developing and interfacing with APIs.
- Extensive experience with AWS, including services like S3, EBS, RDS, and EC2.
- Familiarity with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Experience in application development using Java, JavaScript, and Python.
Optional Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with automated integration into existing IT operations change management platforms and adherence to business operation processes.

Pay: $160,800.00 - $250,000.00 per year
