ABOUT THE COMPANY
Project Physical Therapy is a thriving and rapidly growing outpatient physical therapy clinic in Midtown Manhattan. We specialize in helping active people recover from injury so they can get back to sports and doing what they love … without painkillers or surgery.
We're not your typical medical office. We are a fun and happy team that works together to provide a world-class experience to every client that walks through our door. Our focus is on building a place that feels like a real community - that both clients and team members are excited to be a part of. We want our clients to keep coming back, and we want them to tell their friends and family about us. We consider our clients "family" and do everything we can to make them feel that way whenever they visit or interact with us.
We are also completely cash-based and do not contract with any insurance companies. This means a lot of things for you when it comes to how you get to work with your patients.
You get to:
- Focus on your patient. You’ll spend a full 30 or 60 min with them 1-on-1 uninterrupted
- Spend your downtime researching a case when you need to, or communicating directly with your clients when they have questions - instead of filling out insurance authorizations or paperwork
- See a reasonable caseload of 6-8 patients per day, so that you go home feeling energized and happy about the work you did, instead of mentally or physically drained
- Look forward to coming to work every day - because you actually get to give people incredible outcomes and improve your skills as a physical therapist!!
- Have one-on-one mentorship and training every week - no matter your experience or skill level - to practice skills and go over cases.
- Most importantly... you get to use your talents and passion (the thing that made you want to become a PT in the first place) to make a REAL difference in people's lives.
Who Should Apply For This Job?
You Should apply if...
- You’re really passionate about physical therapy and want to make a real transformation in people's lives
- You’re looking to work in an environment that is NOT a traditional outpatient clinic - and that is fun and feels like a family
- You want to learn and be mentored - we spend dedicated time every week just to practice skills and discuss tough cases
- You like the idea of being able to grow and advance within a company - you're getting in on the ground floor of a rapidly growing clinic. The ability to advance and take on leadership positions are endless!
What We’re looking for:
- A full-time physical therapist to join our growing and family-like team.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of outpatient job experience, be highly motivated, and be ready to learn.
- You should be a licensed physical therapist in the state of New York, or be eligible to obtain your license.
- Someone who is upbeat, friendly, and not too shy to be on camera - video is a big part of how we communicate with our clients, marketing, and social media presence.
- Someone who knows how to quickly build trust and is motivated to form long-lasting relationships with clients.
- Please only apply if you're truly serious about becoming a world-class therapist in a non-traditional setting. The pursuit of growth and learning is one of our core values and we take it very seriously.
Skills and Attributes Required:
- You enjoy being around people, and can hold meaningful conversations with people you don’t know.
- You can think on your feet
- You are alert and aware - you're good at recalling names, faces, and personal details - so that our clients always feel welcomed and remembered
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- You have a pro-active nature and work ethic and have the ability to act without being micromanaged.
- You follow through on commitments. You live up to verbal and written agreements without constant reminders
- You have the ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information
- You have the ability to translate complex concepts in a way that patients can easily understand, so they can get the best results possible and make good decisions about their health
- You're proactive and resourceful. You bring new ideas to the company, do things without being told, and can quickly shift and course-correct when things don't go according to plan - in a positive manner and without focusing on the negative
- You're coachable, love to learn, and have a fail-forward attitude. You take constructive criticism well and enjoy getting regular feedback that will optimize your skills and performance.
- You have excitement, love, and passion for helping others and for the growth of our company
- You’re someone who can work Monday-Friday from 10am-7pm.
Required Competencies:
- Current New York state license to practice physical therapy; or the ability to obtain one quickly.
- Up to date with state-regulated CEU requirement
- Excellent oral, written communication
- Strong clinical decision-making skills
- Exhibit behaviors that demonstrate professional accountability at all times, including but not limited to: practicing in a safe manner that minimizes risk to yourself and others; completing documentation in accordance to the New York state practice act in a timely and efficient manner, consistently and critically evaluating current research and evidence-based practice.
