Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter who can operate independently for a new position in our gas pipeline division to join our team as a Project Engineer. As the Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring projects run smoothly. Must be well organized, computer savvy, and able to schedule efficiently. This is a full-time position that will be located part office and part field. Willing to train the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize, prioritize, and schedule all incoming work orders from clients.
- Visit project sites before scheduling work.
- Inspect site for obstructions and challenges. Take pre-construction photos and note any issues and requirements for site.
- Paint site boundaries and put in locate requests with 811 WA/OR.
- Schedule work to maximize crew productivity.
- Verify completion of work and gather all necessary information for project billing. Package billing information and provide it to Accounting departing for invoicing.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
- Ensure engineering standards and best practices are followed.
- Conduct technical reviews and assessments of project deliverables.
- Ensure all project activities comply with industry regulations and standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, and project completion reports.
- Communicate project status, challenges, and achievements to stakeholders.
- Maintain records of project changes and updates.
Requirements:
- AA Degree in Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent experience preferred but not required
- Previous experience with project management, pipeline work, or underground construction preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills both oral and written
- Proficiency in using computer
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in tracking and maintaining records and information
- Strong organizational skills and time management
- Familiarity with construction, project management, pipeline is a plus
- Resourcefulness in problem solving and addressing changes and unexpected issues
