You are:
We are seeking a skilled videographer and video editor who can shoot and edit on a tight turnaround. Your portfolio demonstrates proficiency in use of camera equipment, lighting, and video editing, and you can shoot and edit a 60-second video on a one-day turnaround.
It is critical that you have an eye for texture and lighting AND can edit footage into witty, documentary-style narrative videos.
You welcome critique, and you are willing to make as many rounds of edits necessary until the project is complete.
The Role:
Your job is to edit 5-20 minute YouTube videos, on a one-week turnaround, and spend one to two full days per week creating a lighting environment and capturing beauty shots of food.
You will be expected to turn descriptions of complicated concepts into entertaining, fast-paced narrative videos.
You will also be expected to shoot food with an eye for texture, movement, and shapes, highlighting the unique features of each dish.
You should be available to work in our Boston office three days per week.
Responsibilities:
- Edit a minimum of one YouTube video, or five Reels, per week
- Manage digital assets
- Light and shoot beauties of food in our Boston office, up to three days per week
- Set up lights and cameras for social media shoots
- Coordinate with the necessary departments to collect all of the equipment necessary ahead of shoots
- Write shot lists and submit them before shoots
- Create workflow systems to manage shoots
- Proactively take on tasks and help other staff, as needed, without direction
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to shoot and edit professional-quality shortform and longform (5-20 minute) videos on a variety of cameras (DSLR, iPhone, handheld gimbal)
- Demonstrated ability to edit tight, fast-paced video
- Ability to shoot professional-quality video on various cameras (DSLRs, iPhone, handheld gimbal)
- Ability to pivot styles quickly
- Clear understanding of framing and lighting
Preferred:
- Motion graphics and basic animation skills
- Familiarity with After Effects and other Adobe programs
- Experience in shooting videos of food
- Experience shooting and editing videos for YouTube, TikTok, and/or Reels
