Summary: Performs patient-specific duties in the area of fertility including patient care, teaching, triage, procedures, and protocol in a clinical and operating room setting under the direction of the physician by performing the following duties.
Required Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs phlebotomy successfully.

Collects and labels specimen as outlined in lab orders/requisitions.

Transports specimens to the lab promptly for testing.

Starts, maintains, and discontinues IV lines.

Administers medications and follows medication protocols.

Provides patient educations and medication administration teaching.

Triages patient problems, questions, and concerns to the appropriate area.

Maintains factual and thorough health care records.

Communicates, reviews, and records all laboratory results.

Assists physicians with embryo transfers when necessary.

Performs transvaginal and abdominal follicular and prenatal ultrasounds.

Monitors and manages fertility treatment cycles under the direction and supervision of physicians.

Performs intrauterine inseminations and intrauterine infusions.

Supervises all licensed practical nurses and medical assistants.

Participates in staff development, nursing conferences, infectious disease classes, and continuing education pertaining to area of expertise.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of technical training. Must be a graduate of an approved registered nursing program.
