Open Position: Mortgage Loan Processor I
Reports To: Mortgage Lending Manager
Position Status: Full Time non-exempt (Hourly)
Job Description:
Purpose: The primary purpose of this position is to assist Atlanta Postal Credit Union to live out our Mission, “To help our members achieve financial success by providing exceptional products and service.”
Summary: This individual will ensure the timely and accurate processing of all loans originated by the Mortgage Loan Originators. The processor’s primary function is to proactively communicate with members (customers) during loan origination in order to obtain necessary loan documents and ensure members have a good understanding of the mortgage process during the underwriting and closing process. This individual compiles, types and verifies application information for mortgage loans.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with our Service Promises.

Answer and communicate with members via the mortgage phone group.

Order and review verifications (including but not limited to 4506 transcripts, SSA, VOE, VOM, VOR, VOL).

Order and review appraisal and title commitment.

Contact member’s homeowner’s insurance agent and request a change of mortgage loss payee.

Deposit and collect member funds for services rendered.

Arrange closing with member and attorney/title company.

Complete closing instructions and review and approve the Closing Disclosure.

Create wire form, process and approve wires and input all closed mortgage loans into Symitar in accordance to the final closing instructions.

Comply with all aspects of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations as they relate to this position.

Desired Qualifications:

College degree or equivalent work experience.

One-year previous mortgage experience.

Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Ability to interact positively with management, co-workers, members and vendors to promote a team effort and maintain a positive attitude even under extreme pressure.

Well organized and able to process detailed information with accuracy and efficiency and the ability to work independently, manage time and meet deadlines.

Comprehensive knowledge of regulations regarding lending and privacy.

Ability to apply loan guidelines, policy, regulations and laws to individual member credit situations.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Physical Job Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines such as calculator, computer, printer, facsimile, telephone, copier, etc. Must be able to stand, bend and stoop as needed. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of 20 to 50 pounds.
