The Fort Zumwalt School District is currently seeking elementary office clerks at five elementary schools to start for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is vital in the successful operation of the school day. Clerks assist in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, office support and recess supervision.

POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY
To improve the educational program by assisting building administrators, staff, and students with a variety of needs in order to Empower and Equip Students to Excel!
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The Office and Playground clerk shall have a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent and be competent in the duties to be performed. The employee shall have a high level of competence in clerical skills as demonstrated by the District’s skills assessments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assist with the monitoring and/or collecting of attendance.
- Assist of entering attendance in the appropriate district software.
- Assist in summarizing daily attendance from appropriate district software.
- Assist with calling parents of students who are absent.
- Assist in checking in late arrivals and assisting with admit slips.
- Working cooperatively with the attendance secretary to maintain accurate student database.
- Assist with the typing and duplicating of material for teachers.
- Assist secretary with answering of telephone, student record keeping, typing of new student folders and records as well as filing of records
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Effectively communicate, verbally, and in written form, with students, administrators, staff, and the community as needed.
- Maintain the confidential nature of all school-related matters.
- Operate office machinery.
- Attend in-service workshops related to the job description to remain current.
MENTAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain highly confidential information; communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and/or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Solve a variety of problems in many different situations and perform in a fast-paced environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position an employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. Close vision ability to look at a computer screen for long periods of time is required. The employee will occasionally lift, carry, move, push, or pull up to 20 pounds.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
