Clinical Functions (may include, but not limited to):
- Taking medical histories
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients
- Preparing patients for examinations
- Assisting the physician during examinations
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
- Performing basic laboratory tests
- Instructing patients about medication and special diets
- Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
- Transmitting prescription refills as directed
- Assisting in minor in office procedures such as Vasectomy
- Phlebotomy
- PRP
- Gainswave
Administrative Functions (may include, but not limited to):
- Using computer applications (Google, Slack, Notion)
- Answering telephones
- Welcoming patients
- Updating and filing patient electronic medical records
- Scheduling appointments
- Arranging laboratory services
- Handling correspondence and billing
Qualifications for Medical Assistant
- Certified Medical Assistant - this is REQUIRED! Do not apply otherwise.
- Must live within 30 minute drive of our Sarasota location. Do not apply otherwise.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
- Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
- Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Experience with EMR
- Strong technology skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
