Job Description
We're seeking an Associate Insights Analyst for our DC office to work alongside the Director of Client Engagement and our analyst team, focusing on data analysis and report generation within the public transportation and government sectors. Key responsibilities include managing client deliverables, helping contribute to client meetings, and ensuring client satisfaction by providing timely, actionable insights to our customers. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the public transportation or governmental sectors, with proven expertise in public information and communication campaigns. They will also have strong technical skillset and be able to generate analytic reports using both quantitative and qualitative analysis. The Associate Insights Analyst plays a critical part in strengthening and growing our client relationships.
Team members should be comfortable working in a small office setting and feel motivated to pitch in during various aspects of our business development and marketing, including but not limited to social media content, blog posts, and industry conferences. Candidates should be able to manage work independently, enthusiastically contribute to team projects, and be adaptable to the immediate needs of a small business.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to client calls and in-person meetings, effectively communicating value to customers and demonstrating expertise in public communications.
- Assist the Director of Client Engagement in developing client resource materials and leading training sessions with customers.
- Support AlphaVu's business development by helping compile case studies and engaging prospective clients in pitches and industry events.
- Use data exploration tools including Kibana/Elasticsearch, Tableau, R, SQL, and Excel to analyze large and continually evolving sets of client public engagement data.
- Provide support in crafting SQL queries for automated data monitoring and topic coding within our AWS cloud infrastructure environment.
- Help monitor client public engagement channels and write concise summaries of relevant online conversations and sentiment trends in a timely manner.
- Generate visual reports and written memos summarizing analytics and recommendations in a succinct and appealing format.
- Study social media and other emerging data sources to generate qualitative analysis.
- Help manage client paid outreach campaigns and make recommendations based on performance analytics.
- Help develop internal marketing and communication materials including blog posts, social media content, paid outreach campaigns, and assist in industry conference appearances.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 1-4 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication skills, including excellent verbal presentation capabilities in a client and industry setting.
- Exhibited ability to synthesize complex ideas into clear, succinct, business writing.
- Strong analytic thinking skills and experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Understanding of digital marketing platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, etc.) and social media performance analytics.
- Proficient with Excel, Word, and Google Suite.
- Familiarity with project management software like Notion to oversee client projects and track progress.
- Ability to work both independently and in teams as required.
- Passion for pitching in, working across boundaries, and operating outside narrowly defined roles in a small and growing company.
- Very self-motivated, highly organized, pays attention to detail, and able to quickly master new skills and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant work experience at a public transportation agency or in a client management role focusing on the public sector.
- Proficiency in business intelligence software such as Tableau or QuickSight for analyzing client engagement data, managing dashboards, and creating reports.
- Familiarity with JSON, SQL, and Python basics.
Benefits
- $80,000 - $95,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience.
