Job Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Quality Manager provides leadership for strategic, tactical, and operational Quality management and for ensuring all product provided to customers meet customer, product engineering and regulatory requirements. With the support of the Aries leadership team, this position has final authority to ensure conformance with specified requirements through the governance of all company-wide quality policies, procedures, processes, programs, and practices. This role will understand and manage document control, quality auditing, and continuous improvement efforts.
Job Requirements and Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish Quality's vision by creating and implementing strategy, policies, processes, and procedures driving improvement in customer satisfaction and product performance.
- Work effectively with the Management Team developing corporate Quality objectives/KPIs and ensuring the organization's effective fulfillment of such goals.
- Establish, track and report on project status, quality standards and other key performance metrics.
- Review all quality nonconformance received from internal and external customers to determine corrective action and work with internal departments to ensure preventative actions are put in place.
- Responsible for Supplier Quality Management. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of raw materials and components used in our products. Conduct supplier audits and assessments as needed.
- Directs the Quality Technicians and other quality support personnel setting objectives, duties and tasks, prioritizing, and assessing ongoing performance.
- Support and lead continuous improvement across the organization in the interest of customer satisfaction and efficiency.
- Provide technical support to customers, team members and suppliers on Quality related matters.
- Evaluates current and/or new quality tools and technology introducing these to the organization where applicable.
- Follow up on defect trends – Facilitate the corrective action, prevention, and continuous improvement with responsible managers, developing improvement plans and documenting nonconformances.
- Collaborate on the successful development and production launch of new products.

Required Skills:
- Proven quality system design and management.
- Ability to troubleshoot, identify root cause(s) and develop and implement effective solutions.
- 6 Sigma Black or Green Belt; working knowledge of statistical analysis and tools.
- Experience facilitating, directing, and working on LEAN Initiatives.
- Ability to use knowledge, experience, and skills to lead and develop a team in a corporative coaching manner.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite programs: Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc.
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
Required Experience and Education:
- 4-year technical degree is required, preferably BSME, BSIE, BSEE or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years in related hands on Quality Management
- Strong background in process development and quality assurance, inspection and testing.
- Solid track record of incorporating sound quality principles to drive effective solutions.
- Experience in leading team and developing high performing teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASQ Certification – CQE, CQM
- Experience in Solidworks, AutoCAD or other design software.
- Track record of continuing education, or active professional society membership.
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and demanding environment.
- Experience with MRP Business Management software such as SAP, Oracle, or EPICOR.
