Summary of Qualifications:
The Senior Customs Brokerage Associate primary duty is to analyze import documentation and audit customs entries for transmission, including all related activities such as problem resolution in communication with CBP and other partnering government agencies.
Our ideal candidate is someone with at least 5 years’ experience as an entry writer and/or import coordinator and knowledgeable in a range of areas such as the following:
· Importer Security Filings (ISF 10+2).
· Reviewing accuracy of bills of ladings and commercial documentation.
· Working knowledge of CFR Title 19, USHTS classification of various commodities, including those requiring additional PGA data such as FDA, USDA (APHIS, AMS, Lacey Act). Experience with FWS, EPA, DOT, FCC, etc., a plus.
· Interpret disposition codes/messages in AMS and ABI activity. Able to resolve ACE errors for entry rejections.
· Possess a customer forward mentality to communicate with clients and government agencies both in email and phone, whether it be resolving various holds, coordinating exams, and updating on release status.
· Familiarity with required original documentation compliance such as certificate of origins, health certificates, permits, licenses, and registrations.
· Be able to effectively communicate with overseas support team.
· License Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist (preferred but not mandatory).
