Location: to be based in our Phoenix, AZ facility. This position will be covering the Phoenix area.
Copper Star Home Medical's Respiratory and DME Marketing Sales Rep is a rewarding and engaging position requiring individuals with superior sales and customer service skills, in addition to stellar follow-through and relationship-building abilities.
This role is responsible for a given market or territory and will act as the sales point of contact for Copper Star’s products and services. The day-to-day of this position includes marketing and sales responsibilities such as providing instructions to patients as well as referral sources, being knowledgeable of third-party reimbursements, and working closely with the store manager to effectively promote products and services to a variety of sources, including hospitals, sleep labs, doctor’s offices, transitional rehab centers, Home Care agencies, placement agencies, senior communities, assisted and skilled nursing facilities and other medical facilities.
There will be the expectation to identify new referral opportunities and maintain good relationships with current referral sources while working directly, and indirectly with customers and staff.
This is a salaried plus commission position that includes monthly sales targets.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Create a sales plan encompassing all referral sources for the entire territory assigned.
- Market and generate sales leads, as well as close leads, for Copper Star Home Medical with an emphasis on respiratory and sleep therapy, hospital beds, lift chairs, power and manual mobility.
- Direct selling to consumers and businesses, while providing an excellent experience.
- Consistently meet established sales goals and expand markets.
- Attend, conduct, and participate in educational meetings, seminars, health fairs, networking events, and building relationships. Participate and interact on social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) while representing Copper Star in a positive way and gaining new referrals and relationships.
- Maintain a record of all sales calls and follow-ups made while updating management on a regular basis.
- Support Copper Star Home Medical by presenting solutions to management on areas of concern and problems needing to be resolved.
- Participate in management activities as requested by Copper Star’s leadership.
- Develop an understanding of third-party medical insurance reimbursement requirements, equipment, and services offered with knowledge about necessary documentation. Obtain needed documentation for new and existing customers.
- Keep and maintain proper documentation for expenses and requested reimbursement monthly.
- Assist and develop a sales budget, and be held accountable to the budget.
- Review marketing and advertising needs for Copper Star Home Medical with leadership and update sales plans accordingly.
- Attend in-store meetings, keeping in communication with store managers and other key members of Copper Star’s team.
- Always adhere to Copper Star’s company policies regarding compliance and confidentiality.
- Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by management.
Qualifications Needed:
- Exceptional people skills. Must be able to build relationships of trust with a variety of different of people.
- Proven track record of meeting sales/revenue goals.
- Ability to identify patient/customer needs and provide solutions.
- Positive, polite, and cooperative attitude.
- Organization skills to help meet critical deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Must have the ability to explain technical information effectively and simply to patients, healthcare workers, medical assistants, nurses, etc.
- A resourceful self-starter able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Works well independently, and as part of the team.
- Computer literacy skills are a must.
- Attention to detail is key, especially when submitting reports, and collecting documentation.
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
- High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent. (College degree preferred)
What We’d Love to See:
We’d also love to see 2-5 years of relevant industry experience, as well as any past DME experience, as well as prior outside sales and marketing experience in the Arizona market.
