UAS Pilot ($120k+)
UAV Exploration is currently seeking full-time UAS Pilots/Field Technicians to join our team. Our UAS flight team members are required to be highly self-motivated, possess a can- do attitude and be able to think outside the box as our mission requirements are some of the most challenging and complex in the UAS industry. Our pilots work in a dynamic field environment and regularly work across the US. Ideal candidates are domiciled in the Greater Pittsburgh region, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to and from remote field locations across the US
- Responsible for working with field team members in a crew environment
- Coordinate daily work plan/ communicate with landowners, clients and management.
- Plan and execute complex low-altitude multirotor UAS-Magnetometer survey missions.
- Quality check geophysical data after each flight.
- Responsible for UAS, battery and ground systems maintenance and care.
- Conduct ground-based geophysical survey work as a follow-up to UAS surveys.
Requirements:
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification.
- Must have Ardupilot/PX4 UAS experience. (DJI only experience need not apply)
- Must have 2+ years experience planning and executing low-altitude multirotor UAS-survey missions.
- Must have strong working knowledge of UAS hardware and software systems.
- Must have good mechanical aptitude, the ability to manage multiple tasks. simultaneously, and be able to meet rigid deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, and professional demeanor.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive company trucks with trailers, RVs, UTVs, etc.
- Flexible schedule, available for long distance travel for up to 2 weeks at a time
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh conditions for 8+ hours
- Ability to lift or pull 80+ lbs.
Ideal:
- Experience with mapping/spatial reasoning: understanding of coordinate systems, contours, other map elements
- Experience working with geophysical instruments such as magnetometers, EM sensors, GPR or other geophysical sensors.
- Experience with GIS software such ArcGIS, QGIS or Global Mapper
- Preferred working knowledge of oil/gas infrastructure
