Position Summary:
Coordinates and assists the maintenance manager with the safe and cost effective operation of Gordon Food Service (GFS) warehouse building maintenance including equipment troubleshooting and repair, preventative and predictive maintenance, warehouse cleaning and recycling, payroll, reviews, employee accountability, refrigeration, regulatory compliance and production team support
Essential Functions:
Reviews maximo on a daily
Assists in observations, employee reviews, and disciplinary actions. Provides hire, performance review and disciplinary recommendations to maintenance manager
Assists in the administration function and record keepings for the department to include weekly action incentive input and scoring.
Perform mechanic and custodial preventative maintenance inspections
Confers with vendors /contractors to resolve problems.
Prepares work schedules, including vacation coverage, to expedites workflow
Monitors warehouse safety according to OSHA standard and communicates to maintenance manager
Participates in PSM, GFSI and Energy Management initiatives. Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.
Other duties and responsibilities assigned
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Electrical and mechanical ability preferred along with knowledge of computer operation and computerized maintenance management systems such as Maximo
Must have a basic understanding of OSHA, EPA, EEOC and other related regulatory agencies and laws
Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the startup, movement, or approach of equipment ( including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
