Tribeca Prep is growing!
Tribeca Prep seeks a creative, passionate, and dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to support our highly diverse students — across a variety of grades, subject and clinical support areas.
Tribeca Prep is a 12-month independent special education early childhood and elementary school. (Our summer term is July 5-August 16, and the regular school year starts after Labor Day until June 2024). Our program includes a significant quotient of academic learning in 1:1, 1:2 and small group settings. Our goal is to prepare our students for a less restrictive environment by developing both their academic and their social skills. Through our cohesive team of teachers, specialists and therapists, we offer our promising learners in grades PK-8, a rigorous, learner-centered education with integrated supports that foster independence and self-advocacy. To learn more about our school philosophy and strategic partnerships and to see glimpses of our classrooms and our robust sensory gym, please visit our website at https://tribecapreparatory.com.
All teachers, specialists and related service providers will attend regular staff meetings; many of these provide professional development in addition to information about students and/or upcoming responsibilities. Further, all employees develop a professional growth plan with their supervisor; regular reviews of goals and performance are provided for personal growth. Employees are encouraged to seek professional development in their areas of interest or need. Staff training is an integral part of professional development at Tribeca Prep. In addition to regular group meetings during the school day, all staff must attend scheduled Staff Development activities throughout the year, including days when the students may not be in attendance. Tribeca Prep is ideal for those adults who maintain a growth mindset!
The Physicall Therapist, a Related Service Provider (RSP), is responsible for providing direct and indirect service to students and staff consistent with the integration and collaboration model of Tribeca Prep. In this capacity, it is expected that the Physicall Therapist will establish collaborative relationships with parents, outside related service providers and Tribeca Prep colleagues to ensure successful inclusion for our students.
Our current PT mandated sessions are mostly 1:1 with some very small group work as well. Our OT’s may also push into our classrooms to provide group activities as appropriate. The typical mandate is 2 x per week @ 30 minutes. Currently, our children are 4 years old to 12. Our specialist will collaborate with teachers, instructors and other specialists (speech and language, OT, Counseling), of course, and join a lively and friendly community of learners and providers. Our PT/OT room is new and well-equipped, and your particular needs for materials will be met.
