The Reconciler Clerk position is included in a workplace model that does allows a combination of in-office and remote work
As a Reconciler Clerk, essential responsibilities include:
- Communicate to originator and management as needed.
- Comply with strict guidelines for documentation.
- Understand the debits and credits of the accounts being reconciled, including reviewing reconciling items for errors and/or opportunities for process improvements.
- Maintain updated procedures, including modifications required by other system conversions or updates handled by areas outside of Finance.
- Reconciliation System administration for email notification, exceptions and/or managements reporting of outstanding items or potential loss reports.
- Identify and implement automation and process improvement.
- Reconcile STAR applications to general ledger accounts and bank controlled accounts using Excel, including vlookups and macros, for STAR Financial Bank and STAR Financial Group.
- Manage the integrity, functionality, and standardization of approximately 300 reconciling spreadsheets.
- Must understand and review the reconcilements as a whole, create and apply via Monarch and Excel comparisons to eliminate the manual process of comparing reports preserving accuracy and eliminating person-hours.
- Provide training, guidance, and support for other reconciler clerks during rotation of duties throughout the year, including serving as backup on certain processes when other members of the team are out of office.
- Research and document outstanding items.Create and maintain backup files of reconciled spreadsheets for archiving, research, auditing, and disaster recovery.
- Assist the accounting and finance team with projects as necessary.
- Assist other departments with projects and questions as necessary.
