Accounts Payable Specialist

Mid-sized privately held Oil and Gas E&P and is actively looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk in our Houston, TX office. Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, able to multi-task, with excellent excel skills and capable of growing with the company. This position is full-time and onsite (hybrid is currently not optional).
The essential job duties include, but are not to be limited to the following:
- Responsible for accounts payable function including: invoice input, vendor databases and vendor inquiry, W-9 information receipt, input, and maintenance, check runs, and positive pay file preparation
- Ensure AP inquiries are resolved on a timely basis
- Manage company’s shared email accounts
- Upload JIB’s from Energylink to accounting software.
- Manage company credit card expenses and reconcile monthly
- Assists in annual 1099 processing
- Ensure AP subledger ties to GL
- Performs special projects and other tasks as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Prior oil & gas experience is a must
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills; accuracy and timeliness are essential
- Ability to cooperate with all levels of employees, management and external agencies
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and willingness to work in fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- 10 key by touch
- Experience with WolfPac or OGSYS as well as Energylink integration preferred.
