Behavior Technician
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, specifically working with people on the autism spectrum. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others through applied behavior analysis and behavioral therapy.
Responsibilities:
- Implement behavior plans and interventions under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Collect data on client progress and behavior
- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized care plans
- Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure consistency in therapy approaches
- Teach and reinforce appropriate social, communication, and daily living skills (ADLs)
- Utilize behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors
- Maintain accurate documentation of client sessions and progress
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles and techniques
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with care plans and behavioral therapy strategies
- Understanding of medical terminology related to behavioral health
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, families, and team members
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively in challenging situations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
