Responsibilities for Licensed Vocational Nurse
- Perform all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors
- Participate in daily controlled substance count
- Sterilize packages and autoclaves instruments, using proper sterilization protocols
- Effectively label and process patient specimens as needed, including tracking specimens in appropriate logs
- Communicate with patients' family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions
- Effectively carry out medical and surgical asepsis during treatments and special procedures
- Administer injections, prescribed medications and clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks
- Demonstrate appropriate hand washing technique to ensure proper infection control and follows universal precautions
Qualifications for Licensed Vocational Nurse
- 2+ years' nursing experience in Home Health / Hospice Services
- Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care according to individual needs
- Outstanding knowledge of medical terminology
- Current LPN license in the state
- Excellent staff training and customer service skills
- Deep understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
- Compassionate and friendly demeanor

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 20 per week
