Our Early Childhood Services (ECS) center is looking for a Licensed Early Childhood Prevention Specialist. The Early Childhood Prevention Specialist role is primarily responsible to providing consultation services in family homes, classroom environments, and other community-based settings. Their role also provides prevention, education, early intervention and consultation services targeting children, parents and community services. County-wide travel expected.
More specifically, the primary responsibilities include:
- Assessing clients’ development, psychological and psychiatric needs in order to develop intervention plans and make appropriate referrals.
- Providing prevention, education, early intervention and consultation services which target children, parents, and community partners.
- Providing families with information and guidance in the development of a service plan for their clients.
- Functioning as both advocate for clients as well as point of contact for other regional resources necessary.
- Performing crisis intervention activities as necessary.
Position requirements include:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a Counseling, Social Work or Education degree required.
- License required: LPC, LSW or Teaching License required.
- Prevention or early childhood mental health credentials, or willingness to acquire.
- Experience with child and family development; infant mental health.
- Experience with ability to manage young children with emotional/behavioral concerns required.
- Experienced in community organizing and/or team building; experienced with consulting with early childhood educational systems.
- Able to participate 2 evenings a week.
- Acceptable driving record (4 points or less), reliable transportation, and carry automobile insurance with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage $50,000.
