JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Information Technology (DIT) is responsible for developing and executing a long-term comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission and strategic goals. The DIT will provide strategic and technical direction related to product, technology development, cybersecurity, application architecture, artificial intelligence platforms, infrastructure management, budgeting, operational efficiency, associate growth and future processes and system alterations. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of IT management and strong leadership skills. For key positions that manage, oversee, and mitigate risk, or have direct oversight of associates who perform these duties, training and/or certifications may be required to ensure the company is adhering to the best and most current information security practices. This position has direct responsibility for department employment decisions and will lead a highly skilled technical team.

- Develop and implement the company’s technology strategy to align with business goals, set timeline for evaluation, development, and deployment of all technical, web, and mobile services.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance business processes and efficiency.
- Oversee the implementation of software and hardware solutions.
- Make infrastructure decisions, ensuring technical excellence, versatility, safety and soundness, resiliency and scalability in the architecting and engineering of product solutions, as well as managing all technical delivery.
- Collaborate with executives to align technology initiatives with overall business objectives.
- Drive innovation by staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Utilize data metrics to demonstrate the impact of technology changes.
- Develop and manage annual and quarterly technology budget and resource allocation, goal/KPI setting, and performance metrics.
- Facilitate the development and Implementation of leading practices for data management, privacy, storage, backups, disaster recovery, and IT security failure, including strategic processes to remotely restore critical systems.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Provide leadership in resolving technical issues and ensuring optimal system performance.
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance with technology operations.
- Provide technical expertise and support to manager and department colleagues.
- Motivate and develop associates and formulate annual goals for team members.
- Lead IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with other departments to understand and fulfill their technology needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead technology teams. Hire, develop, provide direction, coach, and support associates to optimize individual, team, and program performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred but not required. A combination of relevant experience, certification, and training may substitute for the education requirement.
- 10 + years of overall experience in mid to senior leadership positions overseeing architecture or engineering of enterprise-wide technology platforms and leading SaaS technology platforms.
- Previous work experience within a senior level technology officer, director, or associate director position required.
- Experience leading major and/or complex changes and initiatives; demonstrated skills in change management on an organizational and interpersonal level; experience with integrating teams across multiple business units.
- Experience with designing and managing an effective IT governance framework across a spectrum of various IT service deliverables.
- Experience with vendor management and commercial off the shelf products.

- Proven expert experience in managing and maintaining infrastructure and software.
- Strong leader with skills in strategic planning, goal setting, project management, process development, budgeting, and creating opportunities for professional development within technology teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking abilities with a problem-solving aptitude.
- Solid understanding of broad technology trends and the ability to align innovation with business goals and objectives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical topics into easy-to-understand business terms and to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Ability to identify new opportunities, drive clarify, create focus, and make tough decisions in complex and dynamic contexts.
- Understanding of financial services business and the capability of the supporting systems a plus.
CERTIFICATIONS
- Network or Infrastructure Certifications such as IT Service Management (ITSM) or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Microsoft Azure Solutions, Network or Support, CompTIA Network+
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manger (CISM)
- Certified Project Management such as PMP, AGILEPM, or AGP
- The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
- Certifications in cloud technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure
- Data Science and analytics certifications such as CBIP or CAP
