PATH is seeking candidates passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Human Resources Team as the Associate Director of Workers Comp and Leave Management at our main office on Madison Avenue in Los Angeles.

Since its foundation in 1984, PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing.

PATH's Human Resources Team is comprised of multiple divisions within HR, such as Payroll, Employee Relations, Staffing and Recruitment, Compensation, Leave of Absence, and Benefits. ABOUT THE ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
As part of the Human Resources Team, the Associate Director assists the HR Director in managing all day-to-day operations of personnel administrative matters within the PATH family of agencies. In order to achieve the organization's mission of ending homelessness for individuals, families, and communities, the Associate Director fulfills a critical role by ensuring high-quality personnel administration management in the functional areas of compliance, LOA, ADA, and workers compensations for more than 1000 staff across two different nonprofit agencies.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provides direct supervision and training for staff in the functional areas of Administration, LOA and Worker’s Compensation.
- Responsible for the full life cycle administration of all leave of absence programs, including but not limited to remitting and collecting required documentation, reporting leave wages, and ensuring compliance.
- Oversee and manage Worker’s Compensation process; participate in Quarterly WC Claim Review.
- Responsible for compliance with annual OSHA reporting requirements.
- Responsible for accurate maintenance of leave and worker’s compensation files.
- Provides recommendations for new and/or revised policies & procedures.
- Oversees benefits premium collection for employees on LOA/WC.
- Responds to employee questions and assists in resolving issues.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM or other certification
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field a plus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, we require all candidates:
- Five (5) years of experience in Human Resources with prior supervision experience OR focus in at least two functional areas of HR.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Regardless of qualifications, candidates must:
- Have employment eligibility verification
- Have or be able and willing to obtain CPR/First Aid training
- Successfully complete the following as a condition of hire:

Driving is an essential function of this position. To meet the employment requirements for this role, all candidates must:
- Have reliable transportation
- A valid driver’s license
- Proof of insurance and ownership for personal vehicles used during work duties
- The ability to qualify for PATH's insurance coverage
