Join Our Team as a Control Panel Technician!
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
General Description:
Join a dynamic team assembling MCC sections, combination starters, e-stops, disconnects, and more. You'll play a crucial role in adding and removing start/stops, relays, coils, and contactors. Utilize your keen eye to identify panel components both physically and from schematics and BOMs. Design panels per drawings using precision tools like measuring tapes, squares, and T-squares. Your skills in drilling, tapping, and using punches and jigsaws for panel devices will be essential. Wire terminals, PLCs, and other devices meticulously according to specifications. Prepare panels for rigorous testing and shipping in our UL/508 certified shop.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire control panels based on electrical schematics.
- Construct combination starters to meet customer and factory specifications.
- Fabricate and mount electrical components as required.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical components with precision.
- Familiarity with power tools and mechanical assemblies.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in reading electrical symbols and schematics.
- Experience wiring AC (120-480V) and DC (24-50V) circuits.
- Solid understanding of electrical components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong computer skills, with the ability to navigate digital schematics and documentation.
- Basic mechanical repair skills including bearings, pneumatics, and minor hydraulics.
- Preferred (not required): Familiarity with UNIX configuration and shell scripting.
- Preferred (not required): Knowledge of Python or related programming languages.
- Experience working in a UL/508 shop is required.
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education or training in Electronics, PLC, robotics, or mechatronics.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in a similar trade.
