Role Summary:
The Associate Buyer is a motivated individual that will participate in vendor selections, and partnerships. They will assist with merchandise transfers, and ensure the resolution of data integrity. The Associate Buyer will assist in providing information for the monitoring of inventory productivity, and the analysis of vendor profitability while providing data and analysis for price changes, and assists in entering prices changes online.

You also have:
Strong knowledge of and ability to apply retail math concepts, including elements of markup, margin planning, open to buy, and inventory productivity measures (WOS, T/O, GMROI).
Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
1 - 3 years' experience as an Assistant Buyer, preferably in a major department store.
Role Description:
Core Merchandising Responsibilities:
Assists in vendor selection and in developing and maintaining strong vendor partnerships
Identifies opportunities on weekly reports
Pulls and reviews reporting on a weekly and ad hoc basis
Manages in reviewing and executing markdowns and RTVs
Manages a segment of the business under the guidance of Buyer
Analyzes in season business to identify business opportunities to execute on strategy
Partners with the digital lifecycle team to ensure products are accurately added to the site
Responsible for market prep and lead key markets
Ensures the dissemination of product knowledge to selling associates
Monitors industry trends and evaluates competition
Can attend market independently
Lead market prep and attend key markets meetings
Has experienced ownership of a category and/or area of the business
Establishes assortment strategy to achieve financial goals of the brand
Own the development process and maintenance of the PO checkbook
Provides data and analysis for price changes and to influence the pricing strategy
Financial Planning and Markdowns:
Participates in the review of departmental topside financial plans
Owns and communicates business opportunities and liabilities during OTB
Manages negotiations with internal and external partners
Executes the markdown projection process and provides information for internal projection and vendor negotiation
People Partnerships and Development:
Builds and maintains relationships with vendors
Partners with digital lifecycle team to ensure products are accurately added to the site
Work cross functionally with marketing by reviewing assortment strategy, assisting in product pitches for marketing materials
