Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate Care Assistant to join our team and provide essential support to individuals in need.
The Care Assistant will assist with daily living activities, provide direct care, and ensure the well-being of our clients.
This position require:
*Ability to drive our car to help escort our residents to/from a their doctors appointments.
*Ability to communicate well in English to help communicate residents care needs to their doctors at appointments.
*Ability to read/ write in English.
*Ability to switch gears and provide assistance with other tasks on the days/ times there are no appointments.
*Other tasks may include helping with care home residents supervision/companionship activities.
*Help with light cleaning or food preparation.
*Help with childcare/babysitting of owner's kids (usually the 15 month old infant girl) but sometimes also a 5 year old boy, possibly 6-8 hours of the week are childcare if there's no other tasks needed for the residents.
*Childcare pretty easy involves staying with baby/kids when owner is busy, helping gives meals/ snacks to kids, entertain with toys/ books/ educational shows in the apartment on 2nd floor of care home.
*Understand your schedule is based on residents doctors appointment times. Effort will be made to have appointments scheduled in the week day mornings, but sometimes we may have to be flexible based on their doctor's availability.
*Most tasks have a low difficulty level but does require good communication and good attitude. Looking for a kind, friendly and reliable helper.
*Great slow paced work for someone who is retired As this work is not too demanding.
*Great position for someone who likes to socialize, likes people/ kids.
*Bonus if you like to sing or place music/ do karaoke or can share other fun activities with our seniors.
Times:
3-4 shifts per week:
shifts range from 4.5 -6 hours long
typically Monday-Friday

Monday: 7:30am-12:30pm (6 hours)
Wednesday: 9:00am-3:00pm (6 hours)
Friday: 8:30am-2:30pm (6 hours)
Preference given to those willing to cover day/evening shifts when caregivers are out sick... and for those interested in gaining nurse aide experience. Great job for nursing students. Yes you can study on the job if you're finished with other tasks.
See below the general duties for DAY shifts. If you want to cover open days shifts these skills would be required. Primary caregiver shifts are paid at a higher rate than the assistants.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Monitor and record vital signs to track client health status
- Implement behavior management techniques as needed
- Support clients with mobility, including lifting and transferring when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
Covering an evening shift requires:
-The EVENING/NIGHT shift doesn’t require years of experience and we can provide on the job training to do this role. Some health care or nurse assistant work would be ideal.
- Capability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and empathy
For DAY shifts the following would be needed and/or could be taught on the job:
- Previous experience in senior care, patient care, or related fields is preferred
- Knowledge of home care procedures and techniques
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow care plans accurately
RELIABILITY is Key. Our small group of elderly ladies become attached and want to rely on you to be there.
This is not a job for flakey people. If you think you might move soon... looking for something short term please don't apply. This is a position for someone who can be in it for the long term.

Important to know:
This is Independent Contract work so instead of employee you are independent contractor.
There are NO medical or sick/PTO Benefit. For health benefits you have to be covered under either (medical from a different job, someone else's policy, or have Medicaid or medicare you applied for independently).
We do pay 1.5x pay for 5 major holidays (New year's day, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas). Also for work after 6pm on New Year's evening. Pay is in cash at the end of every shift.

Health clearances (tuberculosis clearance and dept of health medical paperwork) and Fieldprint fingerprint background check are required.
First Aide/ CPR are required but we can help direct you to very affordable programs if you don't already have the certificate.
