The YMCA of Metro North is seeking a Child and Family Social Worker to support our youth development teams with training, implementation of positive behavioral supports and interventions. The Social Worker will have expertise in working with families and youth at risk and understands child behavior with the knowledge of setting up programs, supports and interventions for student success in an early education and out of school time environments.
The Social Worker will be dedicated to lead and advance the safety, health and productivity of children in our Out of School environments and summer camps.
Specific Responsibilities May Include:
· Assesses the social emotional needs of children and makes referrals for services, supports, resources and referrals for children and families.
· Provides on-site and virtual support to program staff around positive behavior guidance through training, modeling and coaching.
· Available to support meetings with parents, families, social workers and wrap-around team members.
· Facilitates staff support meetings and professional development, as needed.
· Attends meetings with organization’s partners such as school districts, local mental health agencies, etc.
· Connects with community organizations to gather resources and build partnerships.
· Assists with recruitment, placement, and supervision of Social Worker Interns.
· Travels between sites as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Master’s degree in social work
· A minimum of two years’ experience working with school-age children. (or similar criteria as set by Child Development staff.), preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
· Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
· Requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of: Child Abuse; CPR; First Aid; AED; and orientation.
