Job Requisition: Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health
Location: Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) - Lackland; JBSA Randolph
Degree/Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
Board Certification: None
Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Experience:
- Three years of nursing experience post-graduation.
- One year of experience in Behavioral Health nursing within the last three years.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient care in collaboration with healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Perform physical exams and health histories.
- Provide health promotion, counseling, and education.
- Administer medications, wound care, and personalized interventions.
- Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals.
- Make patient care assignments based on scope of practice and skill level.
- Recognize adverse signs/symptoms and react in emergencies.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as needed.
- Conduct research to support improved practice and patient outcomes.
- Perform nursing services as required.
Work Schedule:
- Work shifts between 0730 – 1630, Monday through Friday.
- Normal work schedules will be 9-hour shifts, including a 1-hour non-paid lunch each day.
- Total hours not to exceed 40 hours per week or 80 hours per two weeks.
