Position Summary:
The Metal Fabricator will construct various jigs/fixtures related to the manufacturing process with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
-
The Metal Fabricator works closely with manufacturing engineering team to research and develop creative and effective solutions for manufacturing and product launch projects

The Metal Fabricator, along with manufacturing engineering team, develops methods to improve department operation and overall operation of the manufacturing process
-
Weld & fabricate metal reinforcements for various production molds
-
Weld & assemble a variety of jigs, fixtures used in manufacturing
-
Orders and maintains department supplies
Education and Experience:
-
Knowledge of manufacturing process
-
Ability to research and problem solve a variety of production issues
-
Hydraulic and pneumatic experience a plus
-
Excellent team and communication skills
-
Familiar with metal working tools including: horizontal band saw, drill press, MIG welder, iron worker acetylene torch, pipe bender, lathe, vertical mill, belt, grinder
-
Familiar with hi-lo, hoists, and man lift
-
Knowledge of basic woodworking machines: table saw, band saw, radial arm saw
-
Experience with hand tools including: drill, driver, tap and dies, files, grinder, sander, etc.

Knowledge of basic shop math
-
1-3 years experience reading blueprints
-
Boat assembly experience is a plus
-
MIG welding experience is desired, TIG and flux core is a plus
