Description
The Senior Interior Designer / Space planner will develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work for a military installation as a contractor. This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming, design, and furniture strategies. The Interior Designer / Space Planner works directly with the engineering department of the client and assists the project managers. Lead designer for interior design of government projects on a military installation. Lead designer for the engineering team in the development and execution of projects. Works with the COR to develop SOWs and IGEs for interior finishes and furniture.

Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related degree from an accredited program.
Minimum 8 years of related interior design, interior architecture, space planning and furniture specifying experience
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and design intent construction document production
Demonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards as well as visual, written and oral skills
A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.
Strong programming, design, space planning, construction documentation and leadership skills.
Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
Current understanding and application of commercial furniture systems.
Experience in AutoCAD.
