Responsible for assisting licensed medical personnel with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. May schedule patient appointments. Assists in chart management. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. Functions as a liaison between patients, staff and providers. Conveys a positive image of the clinic.
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients, taking patients' history and vital signs
- Collecting and processing specimens
- Preparing and administering medications as directed by the physician
- Performing selected diagnostic tests
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Medical assistant certification
- CNA or EMT course accepted
- Minimum 1 year of work related experience in a medical office setting; pediatrics preferred
- EMR experience preferred (EPIC)
- Vaccine administration experience preferred
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Current BLS Certification
- Looking for a team player with excellent communication skills and a professional appearance
- Self-motivated/ works independently/dependable
- Pays attention to detail
Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
