YouTube Shorts is a short-form video platform that allows users to create, watch, and share short videos. It is designed specifically for mobile consumption and has a vertical format that is optimized for viewing on smartphones. The Director of Engineering will lead YouTube Shorts Discovery. You will have a deep understanding of the mobile video landscape and experience in product innovation. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in developing new features and experiences for YouTube Shorts. You will also utilize an understanding of the YouTube ecosystem and be able to work effectively with other teams across the company and partner cross-functionally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $323,000-$465,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
