NCRMA is seeking a Chief Financial Officer and if you are a seasoned professional with an excellent work ethic, who exercises effective problem-solving skills, and pays close attention to detail to ensure budgets and reports are accurate, then we want you on our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently but will report directly to the President.
What YOU will do at NCRMA
This is a unique position allowing you to work in a multi-Company environment serving as the Chief Financial Officer for NCRMA and its 12 affiliated and subsidiary companies – managing the finances of each entity, with a consolidated budget over $13 million, including the preparation and implementation of annual budgets, financial statements, cash flow, long-range forecast, etc.
Specific job functions, include but are not limited to:
- Directs the Accounting staff’s performance on the accounting functions for NCRMA and 12 affiliated and subsidiary companies;
- Responsible for coordinating and facilitating audits of NCRMA and affiliated and subsidiary companies requiring audits;
- Responsible for preparing the financial documents for the Board and Annual Meetings including a company consolidated financial statement; present financial statements and status reports at Board meetings, prepare minutes and agenda for Board meetings as necessary; participate on the Investment Committee with over $60 million in invested funds;
- Ensures accurate and timely payroll by the outside accounting firm;
- Responsible for promptly responding to inquiries from the Internal Revenue Service, the North Carolina Department of Revenue, and all other regulatory entities including serving as the primary contact for all audits;
- Responsible for the filing of annual federal and state tax returns for NCRMA and each of the related companies;
- Establishes a process for ensuring collection of annual dues for NCRMA and three additional affiliated companies;
- Works with the Executive Director of the Virginia Food Industry Association ensuring accurate and timely filings for the VFIA Political Action Committee;
- Serves as the Treasurer of Retail Consumer Alliance Foundation (RCA) a foundation providing support to the Food Banks of North and South Carolina and 52 College Scholarships;
- Oversees the operation of 209 Retail Partners, LLC, a Limited Liability Company created to own the 209 Fayetteville Street office building with approximately 25,000 of lease space;
- Serves as Treasurer and Secretary of Mainstreet Merchants for a Better North Carolina (MMBNC), a 527 Independent Expenditure Committee, and the NC Merchants Political Action Committee (NCMPAC), filing quarterly and semi-annual reports with the IRS and NC State Board of Elections;
- Directs the Human Resources for NCRMA Service Corp. including, recruiting, training, personnel policies, group benefits, 401K Plan Trustee, annual review, new hire documentation, etc.;
- Analyzes the monthly financial statement for improvement to the financial performance of NCRMA and related organizations;
- Work with the Insurance Agency for the insurance coverage including; D&O, auto GL, property, etc. for NCRMA and related entities;
- Forecasting year-end projections vs budgets for NCRMA and affiliated and subsidiary companies;
- Responsible for all IT related purchases and issues, interface with the IT Consulting Firm on all IT related issues, and set-up and selection of the cloud-based association management software Your Membership;
- Coordinates all facility management and equipment purchases, maintenance, etc. for the building and property; Responsible for the negotiation and maintenance of tenant leases;
- Responsible for the NCRMA and 209 Retail Partners, LLC facilities including the operations and renovations of building.
QUALIFICATIONS to join NCRMA
- A roll-up your sleeves, team-player attitude, willing to learn and contribute to NCRMA’s success
- 15+ years of experience as a CFO managing company operations
- Bachelor degree in Business or related field – CPA, MBA or MPA preferred
- Experience with For-Profit Subsidiaries and Affiliates
- Experience with tax-exempt and political organizations
- Experience with Information Technology
- Experience with Human Resources
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
