AV Field Engineer
JOB SUMMARY
This role is responsible for the final testing and commissioning of complex Audio-Visual systems. This position provides technical and management support on project tasks as well as establish goals and plans that meet project objectives. This entails configuring and loading code on system devices, fully testing, and verifying the system functions as designed, and that it meets the customer’s stated specifications. This role also serves as the final quality check of workmanship of the installed equipment, ensuring it meets the company’s standards. This position will work closely with the Project Manager to resolve any issues to close out the project in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Commission and fully test installed equipment (i.e. Crestron, QSYS, Extron, Biamp)
· Create a commissioning plan for each project
· Create commissioning QC checklists
· Troubleshoot system and control-related program issues
· Work with manufacturer’s tech support to resolve issues
· Read and interpret system design schematics and architectural blueprints
· Review project Scope of Work to ensure quality and completeness of installation
· Update software and firmware on various installed equipment
· Red-line field design drawings and hand them off to the Project Manager
· Conduct end-user training and create pertinent training documents
· Create a project close-out punch list for the Project Engineer
· Configure network switches and routers
· Configure, test and debug AV control systems
· Configure, test and debug audio DSP systems
· Make minor control programming changes
· Fine tune audio video systems to ensure optimal performance
· Configure video over IP devices
· Assist technicians with field questions and clarifications
· Conduct pre and post installation rack testing and escalate unresolvable issues to the Project Manager
· Provide assistance to service technicians when requested
· Support installation teams on AV and LV projects as specified
· Other duties and special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum of 5 years of AV installation/Commissioning experience required
· Industry Certifications (Crestron, Extron, QSYS, Biamp, etc.)
· AVIXA CTS Certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
· US Government Security Clearance preferred
· Ability to read and use AV design drawings
· Ability to pass a criminal background check
· Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure
· Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required
· Strong verbal and written communication skills using tact and courtesy along with the ability to handle pressure sensitive situations
· Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative
· Ability to work collaboratively with all staff

· Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, and work in high places
· Ability to lift 70lbs as is necessary in the normal flow of the day-to-day work

· Ability to work multiple shifts, including days, evenings, overtime and some weekends based on project deadlines
· Ability to travel in and out of state for one or more weeks at a time
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $38.00 per hour
