What You Get To Do Every Day:

Oversee all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
- Oversee the month-end close process to ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded and supported and that all accounts are reconciled, complete and accurate.
- Prepare, review and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to ensure changes in accounts are expected and reasonable.
- Provide oversight to the banking & treasury function on a daily basis to ensure that proper cash flow is maintained. Review all bank and cash account reconciliations.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the day-to-day finance operations and the month-end close process.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements.
- Stay current on accounting standards and regulations, and ensure that the company is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Recommend and implement best practices regarding accounting policies and procedures.
- Conduct performance assessments and provide on-going coaching and mentoring to direct reports.
- Effectively communicate work product(s) with individuals at all levels of the organization (through email, phone, web conference, video conference, and in-person presentations). Answer to any questions that may arise regarding the data and/or analytical methods and assumptions used to build the work product.
- Develop and maintain detailed records documenting procedures, methodologies, and sources of information
- Provide support to the CFO regarding ad hoc data and reporting needs.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and special projects as needed.
This is a remote work opportunity with limited travel obligations, which requires demonstrating a level of dedication and commitment to being self-driven and accountable.
What You Bring To The Role:
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in accounting field
- Minimum 3 years leadership/management experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel. Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to interpret and summarize data to aid management in achieving strategic and operational goals.
- Effective influencer and thought leader to help drive key business decisions and initiatives by partnering closely across teams and functions.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify trends, draw conclusions and recommend proactive corrective actions.
- Must be a self-motivated, proactive individual who can work independently as well as within a team setting; eager to take on new and challenging assignments
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Requires close attention to detail, ability to audit work to identify issues and implement processes to prevent errors.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; MBA or CPA desired
- High energy; a can-do attitude when challenges occur
