Family owned and operated athletic business in Massachusetts is looking for a dependable, long-term employee to join our world class tennis department.
As a member of the MAC Tennis Staff, our staff pros play an integral role in the overall success of our clubs and company. Reporting to the Junior Tennis Director, Adult Program Coordinator, and/or Learn To Play Coordinator, our tennis professionals further ensure that the departments budgetary responsibilities are always surpassed, and personally accepts responsibility for their contribution to the team surpassing these goals every month. It is required that our Tennis Professionals must be culturally aligned with The MAC teamwork environment, that our Tennis Professionals understand their job responsibilities extend beyond tennis, and that all employees work to continually improve that cultural team environment. · Providing world class tennis lessons for adults and juniors—private, semi-private and group—beginner through advanced levels.
· Evaluating student progress and teaching tennis best practices and techniques.
· Meeting weekly with the Tennis Department leadership.
· Involved with regular club tennis events to include Pro -Ams, Club Championship, USTA Tournaments, Monthly/ Weekly / Daily tennis socials and Drills, round robins etc
· Sincerely enjoying helping others improve their ability to play tennis in a family setting.
· You have at 5 or more years of Professional Tennis experience, in a high revenue generating large tennis facility.
· Possess a NTRP rating of 5.0 or higher with collegiate or professional playing experience
Additional responsibilities and expectations:
· Attend/support staffing for minimally 1 tournament per quarter
· Responsible for seeing that daily assignments are completed in their respective areas, to meet Club standards (i.e. orderly/organized work areas, straighten/arrange furniture/equipment, picking up trash/debris, etc.)
· Adhere to all the various company, club and department written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job
· Receive, record, and accurately keep track of Tennis Court bookings for lessons, hits, and individual use
· Providing world class tennis lessons for adults and juniors, private, semi-private and group beginner through advanced levels
· Evaluating student progress and teaching tennis best practices and techniques
· Maintain daily records of all tennis fees, lessons, and retail charges, and accurately submit them on a daily basis
· Organize tennis clinics and private lessons that encourage participation in the Clubs tennis activities
· Promote tennis memberships to all potential prospects
· Act as the Clubs Tennis Ambassador to enhance the value of the Club
· Assist the members with all tennis needs and ensure tennis policies are being followed
· Increase member participation and retention by actively, constantly, and personally promoting all club programming
· Teach private or group tennis lessons/drills
· Schedule, administer, and promote leagues, round robins, drop-in, ladders, tournaments, and all other events as applicable
· Develop and promote tennis clinics, private lessons, adult, junior and senior programs
· Call new members to conduct a tennis orientation into the facility and programs available.
· Maintain courts in a professional manner and ensure that the environment is safe for all those who use the facility
· Maximize the Clubs tennis facilities to reduce attrition and attract new members
· Assist fellow employee partners, members, and guests to ensure delivery exceptional service without being directed
· Be aware of team members and the environment and participate as a member of the team
· Notify Executive Director with complaints at the time they occur
· Rectify, practicing service recover, any complaints as soon as possible
· Offer input and suggestions as required in the development and implementation of new ideas for the betterment of the Tennis Department
· Promote Pro Shop sales and programs offered throughout the club
· Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee partner perform a multitude of different functions therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employee partners are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed
- Participate in the annual bubble change of season take-down and replace exercise done in the spring and fall.
· Attend bi-weekly tennis staff meetings
· Assist as needed in the overall club is facilities and operations, conducting the necessary maintenance, upkeep as requested by Tennis leadership
· Ensure tennis department and courts maintain immaculate courts and facilities
Qualifications
· Self-reliant with a can do attitude
· Must be fluent in English
· Be respectful, friendly, and engaging to both clients and staff and understand
· Have 5 or more years of professional tennis experience, in a high revenue generating large tennis facility
· Possess a NTRP rating of 5.0 or higher with college playing or professional playing experience preferred
· Must possess and maintain CPR/AED certification.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
