The Opportunity
We’re seeking a self-starter who is confident, energetic, dedicated, passionate and patient-centric. A Medical Assistant with a willingness to receive training in various areas, as needed, including patient engagement and specific areas where additional expertise is required. A clinician experienced in providing comprehensive patient care. Work collaboratively with the physicians and the healthcare team to deliver personalized holistic patient care with a focus on the cardiometabolic realm, including advanced lipid testing, VO2 max testing, and resting metabolic rate testing.
Location
The name “Sarasota” is thought to be derived from a Spanish term for “a place of dancing” - an apt name for this Florida Gulf Coast city just south of the Tampa Bay area. Requirements
- Medical Assistants degree
- IV Certification is a plus
- A minimum of one year of Functional Medicine experience
- Knowledge of functional medicine practices, with a preference for prior training and experience in this field
- Experience with genomics is a bonus
- Familiarity with brain health and an understanding of oxidative stress, fatty acid metabolism, and related areas
- Willingness to learn and work in areas such as gut health and patient engagement
Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide excellent customer service skills while assisting all patients.
- Able to professionally room patients, take vitals, and confirm medications upon check-in.
- Able to accurately explain and present test kits, lab fees, and supplements to patients.
- Maintains proper records in the EHR for patients and providers.
- Assists in prepping charts daily.
- Triages medical calls on the phone or through the Electronic Records Messaging system.
- Communicates often with patients to ensure medications and supplements are taken properly and regularly.
- Orders labs, prescriptions, and imaging for patients visits.
- Educates patients on how to use the EHR portal. Sets up their online login.
- Checks out patients by providing notes, superbills, and invoices.
- Maintains accurate transactions between the EHR and Rectangle
- Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent customer service, communication, and phone etiquette
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and delegate
- Ability to comprehend and follow all company procedures and regulations regarding safety hazards
- A courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
