Title: Marketing Videographer/Editor

Summary
Principia is looking for a proficient and enthusiastic videographer/editor. In this position, you will play a vital role in telling the Principia story through professional, creative, and compelling videos. Your demonstrable knowledge of video recording/editing/lighting equipment and procedures, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently will be key to your success. Reporting to the Director of Multimedia, you will play a critical role in the creation of promotional and marketing videos that highlight a range of activities at Principia School, and for various client departments. You’ll collaborate with School administrators, faculty and staff, fellow marketing and advancement team members, and client representatives.

Primary Responsibilities

Work with clients to create a strategy and proposal for producing specific promotional videos to effectively meet the needs and vision for clients

Conduct audio/video recording sessions

Edit raw footage to create professional, creative, compelling video that effectively communicates the desired message

Participate in video strategy meetings; support the creative planning and scripting process

Lead the logistics, coordination, production, and editing process for video projects, including interviews

Create and edit video for use as a marketing tool via social media channels

Manage multiple projects simultaneously

Stay up-to-date on videography trends, techniques, equipment, tools, and best practices

Maintain, oversee, and manage department-owned video equipment

File and catalog video b-roll library
Special Requirements

After-hours and weekend work occasionally required

Ability to lift and carry photo/video equipment

FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107) for drones – may be obtained after hire

Minimum Qualifications
-
Student of Christian Science; if not, then values aligned

Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design/Media or related field

Proficiency using video production equipment and software; portfolio required. Preferred background includes:

Substantial knowledge of videography techniques and best practices

Experience using Sony A7S II / A7S III camera
-
Experience flying DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone

Experience using Zoom H5 audio recorder

Strong working knowledge of audio and lighting equipment

Clear understanding of video formatting, editing aesthetics and software, post-production effects, and enhancing techniques

Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, and Photoshop), Final Cut Pro X, and DaVinci Resolve on a Mac platform

General understanding of marketing and visual communication methods

Proven ability to work independently while directing and executing video shoots; ability to interact comfortably with subjects of all ages

Scriptwriting experience strongly preferred
