Midwest Family Mutual Insurance Company is seeking an experienced Multi-line Adjuster, with an emphasis in Property claim handling. Applicants should have at least 5 or more years of experience handling Property claims.
This is a remote position and requires high speed cable/DSL internet and a home office space. Midwest Family has maintained a remote work environment since 2006 with no intentions of bringing employees back into a physical office.
Position Overview:
The Multi-Line Claims Property Adjuster is responsible for promptly and fairly investigating, evaluating, and settling property claims for multiple lines of insurance coverage. This role involves assessing damages, determining coverage, and negotiating settlements with policyholders, contractors, and other involved parties. The adjuster must possess strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills, as well as a thorough understanding of insurance policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Investigate and assess property damage claims, including but not limited to fire, water, wind, and theft.

Review insurance policies to determine coverage and applicable limits.

Conduct recorded statements to document damages and gather evidence.

Estimate repair costs and negotiate settlements with policyholders and contractors.

Communicate effectively with policyholders, agents, and other involved parties throughout the claims process.

Maintain accurate claim files and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with other departments, such as underwriting and legal, to resolve complex claims.

Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to property claims adjusting.

Provide exceptional customer service and support to policyholders during the claims process.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in insurance, business, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in property claims adjusting.

Strong knowledge of property insurance policies, coverage, and regulations.

Ability to work a 40-hour week, 8-hour days, 5 days per week, with potential overtime during periods of heavy claim volume
Certifications:

State-issued adjuster license preferred.

Additional certifications such as AIC (Associate in Claims) or CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) preferred.
Physical Requirements:

This is a sedentary position, in which the adjuster is at a computer desk typing and working the telephone regularly for the bulk of the working day.

This position requires dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other devices.
