Role Mandate
As a Corporate Account Manager, you will be instrumental in expanding IIBA’s operations in a specific geographic territory, fostering community engagement, and enhancing capabilities with partners. This position involves establishing and nurturing client relationships, understanding partner needs, and ensuring engagement of members and utilization of benefits. Successful candidates will possess strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to meet partner objectives in an unexplored market.
As a Cororate Account Manager, you will be responsible for acquiring new program members, supporting existing program partners, and ensuring annual retention of program membership in an assigned geographic territory. In addition, you will seek opportunities to upsell products into existing program members growing IIBA’s revenue and capability to support our members. This position is designed for individuals with 3-5 years of relevant experience, providing an opportunity to manage a broad array of customer accounts, gain knowledge and insights into the importance of business analysis, and develop a pipeline of prospective new program members that IIBA could potentially support. The Corporate Account Manager role puts you on a pathway to growth within the IIBA ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Community Development and Capability Building:
- Drive community engagement activities, including events, tradeshows, and presentations.
- Cultivate relationships with key members of the IIBA ecosystem including chapter leadership, business analysis consultants, commercial organizations, academic institutions, and partners that deliver professional training.
- Organize collaborative events for corporate members, working closely with partners, corporate members, internal stakeholders, and our chapter community.
- Serve as the bridge and connection between our program members and IIBA’s chapter community driving participation, engagement, and volunteerism.
Account Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships, ensuring engagement and overall satisfaction with IIBA program membership, increasing likelihood of renewal with a goal of retaining over 85% of our current program members.
- Focus on securing commitments to increase membership and adoption of certification with new and existing corporate members.
- Conduct ongoing needs assessments, identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling, and suggest program enhancements to grow accounts.
- Ensure overall engagement of the program partner including ongoing touch points, utilization of benefits, connection to the broader community, and support in their desire to learn and grow via their membership with IIBA.
- Deliver presentations regarding the benefits of IIBA membership to our program partners as needed to ensure members are aware of and utilizing the resources that are available to them.
- Facilitate and support the learning objectives and networking opportunities that fall within the scope of IIBA’s program membership through webinars, roundtables, and chapter events.
Ecosystem Development:
- Act as an IIBA Ambassador to introduce, grow, and support both the program and the business analysis profession to prospective and existing corporations, academic instituions, chapters, partners, and the broader business community within your assigned territory.
- Develop and manage a traditional sales pipeline of new prospects and renewal opportunities utilizing qualified leads, referrals from the IIBA network, and other business development related activity.
- Support the facilitation of connecting IIBA’s program members with each other through organization-specific webinars, round table discussions, member panels, chapter presentations, etc.
- Represent the program at virtual and in-person events (e.g., Chapters, conferences)
Minimum Qualifications
- 3-5 years of direct sales or customer relations experience in a related field with a demonstrated ability to sell new business, manage existing accounts, and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities
- Experience in a business-to-business and business services sales environment.
- Natural curiosity and willingness to understand business analysis and its many practitioners.
- An “underdog” mentality with a desire to promote and support the community that IIBA serves.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Charismatic and dynamic presentation skills, able to be delivered both in person and remotely via Microsoft Teams.
- Technically savvy and self-service oriented.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with an ability to thrive in an environment built on trust and independence.
- Entry Certificate to Business Analysis (ECBA) certification required within one year of hiring.
- Multi-language capabilities are an asset.
- Understanding of professional certification programs, from taking the exam to recognizing their value in the professional environment is a benefit.
- Familiarity working in a global and/or virtual organization is preferred.
- Experience with a membership based organization or association that includes member acquisition, engagement, and retention aspects is preferred but not required.
