Medical Staff Credentialing Coordinator

Primary Responsibilities:
- Credentialing and privileging activities for medical staff and advanced practice providers (APP).
- Liaison for medical staff, APP, department chairs, medical staff officers, and committee chairs.
- Coordination of Credentials Committee and Interdisciplinary Practice Committee, including: Agendas, Minutes
- Follow-up correspondence and activities
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and medical staff requirements.
- Maintains working knowledge of: Medical Staff Bylaws, The Joint Commission, State and federal regulations
Key Duties:
- Compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies.
- Coordinates credentialing for initial appointment and reappointment of physicians, APP, and locum tenens.
- Ensures reappointments are completed on schedule and within the two-year period specified by the Joint Commission/CMS.
- Ensures competency requirements set by departments/specialty sections are adhered to.
- Prepares and processes Temporary Privilege requests.
- Serves as liaison to Department Chairs and Section Chiefs.
- Updates practitioner demographic information in the medical staff credentialing database.
Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of physician and APP credentialing and privileging.
- Knowledge of Medical Staff, federal and state regulatory requirements, Medical Staff Bylaws, and certification requirements.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical staff-related databases and electronic management of credentialing data.
- Ability to organize and manage a large volume workload.
Preferred Experience:
- MD-Staff Experience.
- National Certification as a CPCS.

Pay: $35.00 - $37.00 per hour
