Job Overview: As a HMDA LAR Input Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) by accurately inputting and maintaining Loan Application Registers (LARs). Your meticulous attention to detail and thorough understanding of mortgage data will be essential in maintaining our commitment to regulatory compliance and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- HMDA Data Entry: Accurately input loan application data into the Loan Application Register (LAR) in accordance with HMDA requirements and company policies.
- Data Verification: Review and verify the accuracy of loan application data to ensure compliance with HMDA regulations and internal quality standards.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and up-to-date records of loan application data, ensuring completeness and accuracy for regulatory reporting purposes.
- Documentation Management: Assist in the compilation and organization of supporting documentation for HMDA reporting, including loan files and related paperwork.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct periodic audits of LAR data entries to identify and address any discrepancies or errors, collaborating with relevant teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Reporting Support: Provide support in generating and submitting HMDA reports to regulatory authorities within prescribed deadlines, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Training and Compliance: Stay informed about changes in HMDA regulations and compliance requirements, participating in training sessions as necessary to maintain expertise in regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in mortgage lending or compliance preferred.
- Proven experience in data entry or administrative roles, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with mortgage lending processes and terminology, particularly related to HMDA reporting.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and database management systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to maintaining data integrity and compliance.
