FLSA Status: Full-Time/ Exempt
Salary range: $65,000 - $115,000. Salary based on experience and educational credentials.

Position Description
The Lower School Art Teacher is an energetic, creative, and skillful visual arts educator who is
responsible for developing Kindergarten through fourth-grade students’ understanding, skills, and
appreciation of art. Additionally, this person nurtures each student’s passions, talents, and boundless
potential in the visual arts. This role is responsible for ensuring the success of the art program and
integration throughout the school year and teaching K-4 students the joy of art as connected to each
grade level’s curricular themes.
Experience and Essential Job Functions
Develop and implement a vibrant and engaging visual art program for students in grades K-4
- Cultivate the joy of creating and appreciating art through hands-on projects that focus on a
variety of media including: pastels, pencils, collage, paint, clay, textiles, and printmaking
- May collaborate with the Upper School Art Teacher in content areas including: design,
photography, Photoshop and other digital software
- Introduce and expand students’ knowledge of a variety of diverse historical and
contemporary art movements
