We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate patient representatives to present the best face possible to our patients and to be a part of our team at all three of our locations. This opportunity is full-time (5 days per week, plus one Saturday per month).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Treats patients and families with respect and sensitivity and exhibits behavior which projects a caring and compassionate attitude consistent with the philosophy of Greenwood Pediatrics.
- Politely greets families and verifies patient contact and insurance information
- Ensures accurate insurance cards are on file
- Collects co-payments and/or payments on account
- Answers high volume of phone calls
- Registers new patients in Epic EHR and verifies data for established patients
- Schedules patient appointments
- Completes tasks in multiple work queues
- Monitors texting communication platform (Artera) for patient messages
- Screens parent/patient questions before sending to nursing triage
- Performs project-based work as assigned by supervisors
- Performs general clerical duties
- Continually checks waiting room for missed patients and assesses urgent or emergency situations
- Contacts patients who do not arrive for their scheduled appointments
- Audits daily schedules
- Preps appointments with necessary business and clinical documents for the next day
- Checks out patients after visits and schedules additional appointments
QUALIFICATIONS
Position requires excellent communication skills and a friendly, outgoing manner. Professional appearance and excellent telephone etiquette is essential. The ability to handle multiple tasks as well as switch tasks is required. Team environment requires a patient and helpful demeanor to assist coworkers. The ability to remain calm and be effective in emergency situations is a must. Must have experience with various forms of technology- previous EHR and Microsoft Office is required. Company-provided uniforms are required to be worn for this role.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma and one year of health care experience is required. Previous experience in pediatrics is preferred.
