General Summary:
Performs a variety of general and special cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, restrooms and other assigned areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Fulfills all requests immediately and without delay as assigned by a QSI supervisor

Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms
-
Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust mops floors
-
Polishes and cleans fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms
-
Cleans fixtures, tops of windows, door frames, and high areas using a ladder
-
Services can include cleaning, window washing, trash removal, recycling, snow and ice removal, landscaping, and maintaining a building or area

Custodial service calls are considered standard service requirements, such as non-recurring requests to replenish restroom supplies, police, spot cleaning, reported spills, biohazard cleaning, etc.
- Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials

Custodial closets, where available, at various points throughout the building, for storing equipment, including mops, brooms, dust cloths, and other items. These closets and the stored equipment shall be kept clean and organized by the Custodian

Sinks and buckets shall be kept clean and free of standing water and hoses shall not be left connected to faucets when not in use

Removes waste and soiled linens from work area and places in specified bags or containers
-
Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas and/or patient rooms
-
Performs all essential duties and responsibilities for assigned areas and any special job assignments delegated by a QSI supervisor

Does not defer work to others or to another shift without consulting with the supervisor that is currently on duty

Performs work according to an itinerary and continuously updates supervisor on location, status, and any special requests made by management
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:

Able to lift/carry 26 - 50 pounds. Able to stand for long periods of time

Required Skills: Ability to read, write, understand and speak English at a level which enables the individual to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations will be provided whenever possible for employees with disabilities (i.e. hearing impaired, etc.)
